The Casper trash pickup schedule is the most forgiving on this site, for one simple reason: collection runs on almost every holiday.

Only three days a year stop it, which means most of the calendar needs no thought at all.

Collection runs on most holidays

The city states it plainly: residential trash is collected on every holiday except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day and the rest are ordinary collection days here. In a typical year that is a real convenience.

Most cities covered on this site shift collection for six holidays or more. Casper's approach removes almost all of that disruption.

The three exceptions

When collection does stop, the recovery rule is specific. On the weekdays following those three holidays, trash collection is delayed by one day until Saturday.

A December 2025 report confirmed the city was closed on December 25 and January 1 with collection days moved for both weeks, which matches the published rule.

Apartments & multifamily buildings

City residential collection covers households on the route. Apartment buildings are generally served by shared containers arranged through the property.

If you rent, ask the building which day it is collected, though in Casper the answer changes on far fewer weeks than elsewhere.
