Which do I need — a container or a crew?
One or two big items, or a room to clear: a crew is usually cheaper, because labour is the cost. A project running over several days: rent a container and fill it at your own pace. Concrete, dirt or roofing: a small container with a high weight allowance, since bigger often isn't permitted.
Why isn't there a price on this page?
Because a national average would be wrong almost everywhere. Prices swing with local landfill fees, weight allowances, permits, and how far the truck travels. That's exactly what the quotes are for.
Do I need a permit?
On your own driveway, usually not. On a public street, most cities require a right-of-way permit, commonly $25–$100. Your matched provider will tell you what your city requires and often handles it for you.
What can't go in a container?
Paint, solvents, motor oil, batteries, propane tanks, tires, refrigerants and asbestos are prohibited almost everywhere and carry fines. Ask your city about household hazardous waste drop-off instead.
Is this really free?
Yes. Providers pay us for the referral, so you're never charged for the quote or the match. You only pay the provider you choose to hire, and only if you hire one.
